Mobile phones, high-tech appliances, fast food, microwave ovens, plastics … These are just a few of the many amenities of the modern lifestyle that we use every day. Our lives have changed dramatically in the last 100 years. Science and technology have advanced in such a way that we can create amazing products that have improved our lives in many beneficial ways.
But all of these advances and conveniences have not come without a cost. Due to technological advances since the industrial revolution, the industry continues to pour hazardous chemicals and pollutants into our waterways, the soil and the air we breathe. Science is constantly discovering cheaper and better ways to create synthetic materials that mimic what we can get from nature.
We are surrounded by hundreds of thousands of new synthetic materials, many of which are highly toxic. Much of our water, food and air are polluted with chemicals that are not biodegradable or take years to decompose. Every day we are exposed to thousands of toxins that slowly build up in our body.
The scary thing is that we don’t have to work in a factory or live next to a landfill to be exposed to these toxins. Every day we are exposed to thousands of toxins in our own homes and just leading our modern everyday life.
Many chemicals are consumed by our food and food containers. Pesticides have become the basis for the modern farmer. They are constantly sprayed on our land and then end up in our food supply. Pesticides can circulate in our environment for decades. For example, DDT, which was banned in the 1970s, can still be found in foods like our dairy products.
These pesticides not only do not break down in the environment, but they do not break down in our bodies. They accumulate in our adipose tissues and in the tissues of animal fat. So the chicken, beef, and pork we eat provide us with even more toxins. (Most animals also receive many other chemicals, such as antibiotics, when they are raised.) And don’t forget that our brain is about 60% lipid (fatty) material, so the toxins in our body affect us both mentally and mentally. and physically.
Our modern processed foods have added so much to them. These food additives include preservatives, whitening agents, emulsifiers, texturing agents, moisturizers and ripening agents. Even scarier, many of these additives are made from petroleum or coal tar!
We also ingest toxins in the water we drink. Almost everything that is splashed on our soil or in the air goes into the water. Municipal water treatment plants do not clean the water of most of the chemical pollutants. In fact, they add chemicals like chlorine to try to kill dangerous bacteria and parasites, but also create toxins for our bodies.
We inhale toxins from the air. Solvents are everywhere. In 1993 alone, more than 1,672,127,735 pounds of toxic chemicals were released into the air we breathe. (EPA – Inventory of Toxic Release 1993) They are used in almost all cleaning products and materials that we use every day. Formaldehyde can be found in building materials, carpets, curtains and even makeup (cosmetics).
You can even absorb all of these toxins through your skin. Solvents that do not release gas into the air can be absorbed in solid form upon contact with them. Every time your baby crawls on the floor, it absorbs the toxins from the carpet and the cleaning products you sprayed around the house. Every time you use lotion, hand sanitizer, perfume, shampoo, and put on clothes, you absorb toxins. And for many women, the morning makeup routine is the routine of applying toxins to the body. Cosmetics are one of the worst and most toxic products you can use.
Toxins are everywhere. They are almost inevitable in our modern way of life.
But before you throw down the towel and succumb to all doom and gloom, let me tell you that you can still live a long and healthy life.
Our bodies are amazing machines. In fact, they are made to deal with and remove toxins from our bodies. The liver and kidneys, along with various other organs in our body, actually remove toxins from the blood and cells and send them back as waste.
So please, problem solved. One hundred years ago yes, problem solved. There is so much toxicity in the environment today, and the nutritional level of the food we eat has been reduced so much that our body simply cannot keep up.
But I’m here to tell you that it’s still possible to live a long and healthy life. The secret is to avoid certain toxins by understanding where they are and which are the worst. You don’t have to completely change your life and step back from your modern lifestyle, you just need to change a few little things.
You also MUST supplement your diet. Getting the nutrients you need from the available food is virtually impossible. Even the medical establishment finally collapsed, and most doctors would agree that at least a multivitamin is essential in today’s diet. (Be careful which one you choose, remember that many supplements contain additives and toxins so they don’t really help if you choose these brands.)
And it’s a big deal when I say that the medical facility began to agree that supplementation is necessary. Most doctors are never taught about the bad effects of chemicals, and even less learn the importance of nutrition. They really just don’t realize how ubiquitous synthetic chemicals are.
Doctors are trained to believe that chemicals (known to most of us as prescription drugs) are the answer, not the problem.
Some of the solutions offered by doctors, pharmaceutical drugs, contain highly toxic chemicals such as pesticides and heavy metals that can actually contribute to the problem.
The health of the pharmaceutical industry has never been better, but the health of the general public continues to decline rapidly and has never really been much worse.
The consequence of our modern lifestyle and the constant intoxication it has caused in the human population is associated with the development of an increasing number of diseases. These include obesity, asthma, various autoimmune diseases, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, and thyroid disease.
All of these ailments have increased dramatically over the past 50 years. In fact, it is predicted that the generation that is being born will be the first generation that will actually live shorter than the previous generation.
Millions of dollars are spent each year fighting these diseases, but most research is geared towards finding treatments. These studies have resulted in the development and marketing of an increasing number of drugs aimed at improving the system and SYMPTOM CONTROL, but usually NOT TREATING the disease.
As I said before, pharmaceutical companies hate. It’s like they are just throwing patches on problems and hiding them. Take this or that drug, and if it causes a different symptom, just add another drug to hide it. It is an endless cycle.
Now it’s time to break the cycle. Several companies are taking a different route; path of health and nutrition and disease prevention. Why wait for the body to be so damaged and full of toxins and poisons just to add more drugs and chemicals to try to hide the symptoms.
Start taking care of your body now by providing it with the nutrients it needs to take care of itself. Your body is a truly wonderful thing to heal and take care of itself when it gets what it needs.
Don’t wait; your health is truly your greatest wealth!
