How to practice green real estate while saving cash?

[ad_1]

An important issue that has a negative impact on both the environment and the financial situation of people around the world is the rapidly increasing consumption of electricity. . Electricity bills have become a major component of overall spending for most people around the world. A cost-effective way to reduce energy consumption as well as promote environmental protection will surely kill two birds with one stone. Here are some tips for the same:

Manage power audit

Identifying your home’s primary energy use can go a long way in reducing your electricity bills. When you find out which of your devices uses the most energy, you can reduce its consumption. Not everyone knows the right way to conduct an energy audit, so you can always hire a specialist. This will prevent any health risks that may arise when tinkering with equipment you don’t know.

Replace incandescent lighting

One of the biggest consumers of energy is incandescent bulbs. Be sure to replace them with compact fluorescent lamps, thanks to which you will save up to 44% of energy consumption. Another way to reduce energy consumption is to clean the light bulbs, as dust can reduce the light output by at least 25%.

Change cooking appliances

If you notice a sudden spike in energy consumption, the first thing to do is replace all your old appliances with new ones as they will use less energy. Also, if you are using an oven for baking, switch to a microwave oven as microwaves use 40% less energy and will not heat up the kitchen in the process.

Create a hot-cold balance

Another way to reduce energy consumption is to use a programmable thermostat. This allows you to enjoy the perfect temperature without increasing your electricity bills. In addition, it is recommended to install a ceiling fan as well as AC as AC is very energy intensive. The water heater can also be insulated with a heating jacket. This keeps the water warmer for a longer period of time and does not require the heater to be turned on again.

Invest in a recycling station

Instead of throwing out your rubbish, what if you could recycle it and reuse it in your backyard? This environmentally friendly practice is available if you install a recycling and composting station in your home. As a result, you will not only help the environment by preventing garbage from being disposed of improperly, but also reduce the cost of buying the same items repeatedly.

In today’s smart age, nobody wants to be the one to degrade the environment. The above steps will not only help you protect the environment, but will also lower your expenses.

Green Home Buyer’s Guide to Choosing an Environmentally Friendly Home.

[ad_1]

Living green is the way forward and now is the best time to follow this trend. So go ahead and own a green headquarters that reflects your personality. Below are some points you should consider in your quest for a green home.

Building a house vs. Buying: How Do They Compare?

Every house is energy efficient and eco-friendly in one way or another, which usually saves a lot of money. But buying a house does not give you the freedom to use your own ideas from scratch, unlike building a house according to your own plan.

Renovation may do the trick

If you own an environmentally unfriendly home and want to convert it into an environmentally friendly unit, you can spend money modifying your home based on your ideas. For example, you can replace your old light bulb with the latest LED lights which have been proven to consume less energy. Keep in mind that remaking your home can cost you a significant hole in your bank account, but it’s definitely worth it in the long run.

Other important priorities

Ecological life will probably be next to impossible if you are on a budget and want to stay close to popular malls. The same can be said if you want restaurants and other recreational facilities in your area.

Prepare to move if necessary

Is living in an ecological house your highest priority? If the answer is yes, then you need to consider moving to a place where it is possible, ie a place where there is plenty of sunlight and a place that suits your budget. But in most cases it would mean you would have to move to another region. You would have to settle in a whole new location where you’ll have to start all over again, which is a bad idea if you don’t feel like changing.

Get a green agent

Now that green living is becoming more and more popular, there is a growing number of real estate agents specializing in identifying such homes. Get in touch with one of them for available affordable alternatives.

While living an environmentally friendly life is a great step towards a self-reliant life, it also requires an investment of a lot of time, effort and money, which are usually not a viable alternative to working class families. You should choose this lifestyle only if you are absolutely sure that it is a big decision and not just a hobby.

Eco-friendly and green terrazzo tile cleaning tips

[ad_1]

Terrazzo is a combination of marble chips and cement, available in a variety of colors and patterns. It is a versatile and environmentally friendly flooring choice for many different reasons, one of the most important of which is the green cleaning options available. Understanding what is safe and harmful for your terrazzo floor, as well as what is safe for the environment, will help you determine the best eco-friendly ways to clean your terrazzo floor.

The first thing to consider when practicing green terrazzo floor cleaning is to use commercial cleaners. The most important tip I could give you is to avoid using these cleaners if at all possible, especially if you are unfamiliar with the product. There are few products for cleaning terrazzo floors that are environmentally friendly and many can also harm terrazzo if you are not careful. You don’t want to be the next horror story told by contractors repairing a discolored or damaged terrazzo floor. Remember that most chemicals are not environmentally friendly and contain harmful chemicals – both in the air in your home and in the water you throw into the sewage system or in your backyard.

The most environmentally friendly option for your terrazzo flooring is professional cleaning and polishing. This has several different advantages. Even if you choose to use a commercial cleaner, many times it just won’t do much for your terrazzo floor. It may still feel dull or yellowed. Cleaning and polishing will lighten your terrazzo floor, keeping it looking fresh and new. The best part? It is completely ecological. Terrazzo polishing does not require any chemicals. The contractor will come with specialized machines that will remove a very thin layer from the top of the terrazzo floor, revealing a fresh layer that will be much brighter and more vivid.

Besides the process itself, terrazzo polishing is also environmentally friendly when finished. A cleaned and polished terrazzo floor will improve lighting efficiency with a smooth and shiny finish. This is especially important for large terrazzo floor areas such as warehouses, showrooms or factories. The only thing better than environmentally friendly cleaning is environmentally friendly cleaning which will save you money in the long run. In the same vein, a polished terrazzo floor will require minimal maintenance and will retain its shine throughout its life.

Terrazzo flooring is unique, versatile and sophisticated. You can make sure your appearance looks its best in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

Make your kitchen environmentally friendly

[ad_1]

If you want your kitchen to be an environmentally friendly zone, there are many ways to help protect the environment. It turns out that most kitchen items can be cleaned with baking soda, vinegar and lemons. Just look at the cleaners at home celebrity shows to see that when they clean, they use these three items.

Ready-made cleaners carry a variety of hazard warnings. This should be a sign that is not good for your kitchen or the environment.

One of the most important elements in creating a greener kitchen is to think before quitting. When you are casually tossing leftovers, think about what else you can use them for. Many homes use the leftover vegetables for compost or vegetable stock. This way, you can reduce food waste, and it’s a great start to making your kitchen more environmentally friendly.

If possible, try to choose energy-saving bulbs. They often cost a little more, but last longer. This is a great solution for anyone who is “green”.

It may seem really obvious, but recycle, recycle, recycle! Boxes, plastic and bottles can be disposed of at your local recycling facility. If you want to go a step further, think about remodeling your kitchen and use recycled materials. These can be reclaimed wood, stone and even paper! Many materials come in many beautiful designs – some are even as good as high-end modern kitchens. So let’s have a look.

Finally, keep an eye out when looking for kitchen appliances. Look out for the Energy Star symbol; this identifies products that are more energy efficient (typically over 10-20 percent better). Also try convection cookers as they cook faster (of course this has the advantage that dinner is on the table faster and is also environmentally friendly!)

Whether you are making small changes or completely changing your lifestyle to adapt to greener methods, every step is positive. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you can only deal with one or two of the tips listed here on the site – that’s just a suggestion. If everyone implemented one of them, we would be a much greener nation! The environment will thank you for it, and your new lifestyle can have a positive impact on many future generations!

Green tips for a greener land

[ad_1]

The history of my ecological island began some time ago. It has evolved and grown but has always kept common values ??that have become a compass on a journey that still has a long way to go. The island started with my personal love for the island lifestyle. Whether it was Peele Island in Lake Erie or Antigua in the Caribbean, it really didn’t matter, I always loved the island’s pace and the natural beauty each island has to offer without ever realizing that part of the this love was related to the eco-friendly harmony that always seemed to exist in these places. Years passed and the love continued, but the change was headed straight for me and there was a real change, I became a dad. Pretty cool, very special, and my little girl was not only the apple of my eye, but also became my teacher. Not bad considering he’s only in eighth grade.

This is where my story takes on one of those dream sequences where we momentarily go back in time. As you read this, of course I have no idea how old you are, so I assume what I am sharing makes sense no matter what your age. Do you remember a time when you were brushing your teeth and leaving water when you were working on the perfect smile? We never left running water because we were bad people or had a great desire to waste water, or worse, we weren’t eco-minded, of course not, we just did what people always did at the time without realizing that if we’ll cut that tap off, we can still get that great smile and help the earth. As my daughter grew up she was instinctively aware of waste and looked for ways to eliminate waste at the family level. One rule she came up with was the simple fact that our family only consisted of my wife, daughter and me, so there could only be three lights on at a time in the house. One light for each person. It’s a great idea and an easy way to be environmentally and bank friendly while lowering your electricity bills. Results!

Through the eyes of a child, my love for the islands has now become her story as much as mine, only her island and mine and yours is Earth. The planet is a sustainable island that we all need to protect, and it’s not that hard. The ecological website of the island is a joint project that I did together with this brilliant eighth grader, my daughter Kirsten. We hope you will join us in our efforts to save our sustainable island. The effort it takes to give our children a better world is not as difficult as it may seem. Small, green, Earth-friendly ways of thinking and acting will put us on the right path.

Go green with your bathroom

[ad_1]

People who are trying to make their bathrooms more environmentally friendly may find potential home buyers for their property.

This is because new research has shown that energy efficiency is one of the top priorities for people looking for a new apartment – and this could include whether the residence has shower cubicles or not.

The survey revealed that one in seven respondents say the factor that matters most to them when considering future housing is how environmentally friendly the place is.

Other aspects that ranked high in the survey were the price and size of the home.

Those looking to improve the durability of their bathroom may find a double flush toilet a wise investment and its features can help you save water.

People who make full use of showers in their bathrooms can do something for the environment by helping to save water. People who want their bathrooms to be greener should take more showers.

A five-minute shower uses about 40 liters of water – about half the volume of a standard bath.

There are many other ways homeowners can try to reduce their water consumption. These include people turning off the taps while brushing their teeth – since the tap can use up to nine liters of water per minute – when using a water saving device in a toilet cistern, you can save between one and three liters each time the toilet is red.

Checking faucet washers is another quick and cheap way to reduce performance and do something for the environment.

Homeowners could make their properties more environmentally friendly by applying special foam strips around doors and windows – such as those used in bathrooms – to reduce drafts.

Environmentally friendly bathroom accessories seem to be of interest to consumers when it comes to faucets and faucets, people are just wondering how much water they use.

In an interview with the Kansas City Star, kitchen and bathroom designer Scott Bennett explained that when it comes to toilets, maintenance has been a factor for many years.

The news source noted that one way to go green in bathrooms is to look at the various shower options available, such as low-level fittings and high-end electronic systems.

They save water by reducing the flow rate. Other design improvements push water more forcefully, so customers likely won’t notice much of a difference.

IP PBX phone – the heart of ecological business

[ad_1]

Switching to a PBX phone system may not be an ideal strategy to support an environmentally friendly business ecosystem, but office and home phone systems where installing a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone system would save on expenses and more.

The following points explain how an IP PBX telephone system can be environmentally friendly:

1. The possibility of videoconferencing via the Internet reduces air pollution

The IP PBX system enables organizations to save on vehicle operating costs by enabling videoconferencing. Consequently, not to mention road travel, long flights could also be avoided.

2. The IP PBX system means less use of copper:

Traditional telephone systems require more wires if the distance between the caller and the receiver is very long. This would undoubtedly require a large amount of copper wire. The requirement is further increased due to the inevitable wear of the copper conductors. Both home and office are becoming eco-friendly thanks to the transition to a VoIP telephone system. Since broadband Internet is used to connect calls, it is assumed that this type of office telephone system can function without reliance on the Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN), which requires telephone wiring in countries extending across continents.

3. Less e-waste

Traditional phone lines invariably require hardware to function. However, an IP PBX system would only require computers and the only other hardware components are the phones and the PBX system. The latter also becomes unnecessary if the VoIP office telephony system provider operates the entire PBX system on behalf of the service user. Therefore, less hardware means less wear and tear and less obsolescence. Thus, an IP PBX phone generates relatively less e-waste.

4. Fewer telephone lines would require fewer telephone poles

Although transnational lines are sometimes installed beneath the ocean, at the end-user point they are accessible to homes and offices via telephone poles. The poles are usually made of wood. Switching to an IP PBX telephone system will reduce wood consumption. This reduces the number of trees that are cut down.

5. No Fax E-mail – Save paper and ink

An office telephone system that uses broadband Internet will invariably use e-mail instead of fax. Even though IP fax services are available for organizations that require a large amount of printed data, organizations that do not require such extensive exchange of paper-based information can instead settle for e-mail and not only save trees but also save on maintenance expense.

6. Teleworking: A new way to run your business without affecting the environment

When employees work from home or work remotely, the company’s energy consumption is significantly reduced. In addition, office resources do not need to be used to monitor inefficient use of devices and other devices such as computers, lighting fixtures, and so on. Working from home also reduces the use of paper and stationery as the costs are borne by the worker himself. An office telephone system using broadband Internet enables teleworking via videoconferencing and the use of e-mail to deliver materials.

Enjoy the eco-friendly winter season!

[ad_1]

What better way to reflect on generous reasons of thanks this holiday season by celebrating this year in an environmentally friendly way? Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, travel, waste, and consumption seem to peak during the holiday season, and there’s no telling where to draw the line. Fortunately, there is no need to abandon the timeless holiday tradition in order to be sustainable; we just need to adjust our favorite celebrations to fit a more modern green outlook.

Tree

ecological Christmas tree solution is not what you would expect. Surveys have shown to everyone’s surprise that artificial trees that were once considered great reusable solutions are thrown away after just a few years of use. This is unfortunate given that these products are rarely made of biodegradable materials and will stay in landfills for many years. Alternatively, the real deal is actually stimulating the Christmas tree industry, the fields of which will be sold and most likely paved or developed without consumer support. Fresh air from these local tree activities is one great reason to invest in a fresh tree plant each year. The only downside to fresh wood is that most of it is grown using toxic pesticides. Your best bet is to find a local organic timber farm if you really want to be eco-friendly.

The lights

Christmas lights are often a huge waste of materials and energy. They do not last for many years and consume huge amounts of electricity. Consider switching to solar if sparkling lights are a must, a small panel can even be made at home for a small investment of a few dollars and a weekend. Whenever possible, lights should be used in the home where the small amount of heat generated can actually be used constructively. Unplug them when you are not at home.

Decor

Bringing outdoors is a great way to save on thin disposable decorations that go out of style quickly. Cones, winter berries and native wood wreaths are wonderful organic additions to the interior of the house. Outdoor decoration using bird grain is a great eco-friendly design for children that can bring unexpected vivid colors to the windowsill in the morning. There are absolutely no limits: nature is the most creative decorator of us all.

Feast

Do not worry; we are not going to imply that you limit your holiday gluttony in any way, shape or form. In fact, Christmas spending keeps many businesses on the border, right up to the holiday frenzy. Take this opportunity to support local farmers and food growers knowing where your treat will come from. Frequent farmers’ markets in the area in the fall as they bustle to find out what will happen for Christmas. Basing dishes on seasonal items can bring tradition back to the table to which it belongs.

Celebration

Ecological holiday celebration may be just what your family needs to embark on a sustainable path. Make sure the Christmas gift paper is recycled for next year, that the bags are neatly folded and the leftovers are transferred to the compost pile. Try to get your neighbors together to the leisure commuting section and encourage your distant relatives to do the same. Sustainability is something that can extend and revitalize long-established holiday traditions, but does not have to require sacrifices.
